Chicago Glass are in the process of revoking the current white CRO CSCS cards (Construction Related Occupation, Glass In-Situ Restoration Specialist) and moving across to the GQA - Q card system.
This is in light of the withdrawal of the CRO card by the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS). As of the 30th September 2017, any CRO cards issued from the 01st October 2015 will expire, those issued prior to this time will be valid until their expiry date. You can read more about this here.
The GQA - Q Card is a CSCS partner card, with the same standards as CSCS with our employees requiring an N/SVQ and a health and safety test.
In conjunction with GQA approved training provider, Fit For Trade Ltd, our employees will undertake a GQA Level 2 Certification for Glass Related Occupations (Construction). Upon completion of the GQA Qualification, a full card - GQA CSCS glazier card, will be issued to our employees and will have a validity of 5 years. Should any of our team have an expired CSCS card they will be issued a temporary card in the meantime.
We are committed in ensuring our employees working on construction sites have the required training and qualification in the work they carry out.
This change will not have any impact on our ability to send employees to construction sites and we are working closely with Fit For Trade Ltd to ensure our team complete the qualification with minimal disruption to our working day.
If you have any questions about the withdrawal of the CRO CSCS Card or the new GQA Q Card our employees will hold, please contact Tom Baker on 01634 735 616 or info@scratchremovers.co.uk.
