At Chicago Glass we try to ensure the work

we do has positive outcomes for our environment.

Every day, our technicians restore a scratched, contaminated, impact damaged glass panel on construction sites, along with damaged architectural metal panels. Enabling that panel to stay in the building and out of the landfill. The same goes for architectural metal framework. Rather than being scrapped, it gets a second life.

We also look for other ways to reduce our impact on the environment, such as vehicle emissions, reducing paperwork levels, and reducing indoor air pollutions with the help of office plants

Extending Product Lifecycles

Circular economy is being discussed within the glazing industry and whilst we do not offer a way of recycling the damaged glass, we can restore/repair the glass and the metal framework to ensure its life span is extended. By repairing the glass, you are not having to think about whether the glass is suitable for cullet.

Glazing Type 99% of the time we can remove defects and restore impact damages on a variety of glass types.

Cleanliness of Glass We can remove stubborn surface contaminants from glass, removing the need to replace. For glass polishing, all we ask is that if the glass is clean, it helps us identify the defects quicker.

Transport breakage With our services both to restore glass and metal framework, there is no need to transport the defect panel to us, we come to you.

Quality Glass cullet has to meet a certain quality test before it can go into the furnace. For us, unless the panel is broken, or the defect is too close to the edge, we are able to help you.

Manufacturing Even where glass has not yet gone to site, we can attend your factory and remove any defects on the glass before it is shipped.

Reducing Vehicle Emissions

When renewing the fleet, we purchased low emission compliant Fiat vans. Additionally, we encourage vehicle sharing for when sites require multiple technicians, and public transport where possible in London.

Reducing Paperwork

Out with the carbon copied worksheets and printed paperwork; in 2022 the company invested in an online job management platform, Big Change. This has reduced the internal and intergroup paperwork by keeping the information needed on desktops, and mobile apps, including customer worksheet copies.

Alongside our new website build with CS One, we have introduced digital business cards for the Directors.

Investing in Office Plants

We have been increasing the number of plants in the office to boost oxygen levels and reduce indoor air pollutants. It even makes the office look brighter.
