No, polishing the glass will not compromise its integrity. However, if upon consultation we thought otherwise the attending glass technician would advise prior to commencing.
There are very few occasions where we have been unable to polish out your glass scratches. As a guideline, although this is not always the case, we are unable to polish scratches when any of the following apply;
Yes, but it depends on the damage done to the mirror, its location and how the mirror is fitted.

We will always be honest and open with you, if we are unable to restore your glass damage we shall let you know. We will not aim to undertake any job where the risk of breakage is high, unless we have your agreement to state you would like us to try.
In addition, if in our opinion the cost of the restoration is more expensive than replacing the glass we shall advise you of this.
Yes, glass can break. We avoid polishing within 20mm of the perimeter in case there is underlying damage under the framework, as it could lead to a breakage. We will always advise you of the risks if your damage is on a certain type of glass.
Due to this, we can often not resolve sandpaper scratches around the edges of the glass.
On the very odd occasion, yes. This is very rare and we shall always highlight this prior to carrying out any restoration. If we believe there is a high risk of breakage, we shall only proceed with the works with your consent.
When glass is scratched, chipped or cracked, its integrity is weakened, which on the rare occasion can cause it to fail when being worked upon. It is because of this that we make you aware of the risks prior to carrying out any repairs.
However, our glass restoration services are often by far the most economical solution, with a failure rate of less than 0.1% of the work we carry out.

We work in A4 areas, so to get an estimate of the cost we will ask you to count how many A4 pieces of paper would be required to cover all the damaged area(s); or for chips, cracks, shells and edge damage if a photograph can be sent in to firstname.lastname@example.org, we can 99% of the time advise you on the price there and then.
