Vehicle Windscreen Repairs

Polishing Damaged Glass In-Situ

Scratches caused by wiper marks on the windscreen can cause a vehicle to fail its MOT and scratches caused by diamond rings, vandals or grit caught between the doors and the side windows can seriously detract from the appearance and value of the vehicle.

Chicago Glass employ technicians nationwide, able to respond to these types of problems-either at the driver's home or at his local car dealer- and repair the glass without any distortion.

Chicago Glass technicians can also repair stone damaged windscreens and remove etched VRN numbers in glass where errors have arisen or where private vehicle plates are concerned.

Commercial Fleets

A major market for Chicago Glass is with fleet operators. Our client list boasts almost every national fleet operator of CDVs, light vans, trucks, buses and coaches. This business also extends to every large local fleet operator including local councils, bus companies, distribution companies and transport operators.

For these clients we operate a screen maintenance programme calling, usually monthly, at the vehicles' location, inspecting all the screens, repairing where possible and advising when glass needs to be replaced. On average, using this service, clients enjoy a reduction of 80% of their current glass replacement.

Apart from the obvious cost benefits of repair over replacement, our maintenance programmes significantly reduce downtime - where replacements would disrupt operators' schedules.

Fleet and Private Cars

With home based vehicles covered by Insurance or Accident Management companies, we operate a 24 hour helpline facility at our Head Offices whereby one central freephone number allows us to direct customers to their local mobile technician. Our 150 technicians, operating out of 95 locations achieve a repair ratio of 92% to call-outs but if, on inspection, they cannot achieve a totally acceptable repair, they arrange a replacement through our head office and no charge is made for the visit.
