Should the damage be the result of a break-in or burglary, the insurance company will often agree to the damage being polished out by the Chicago Glass technician - rather than replacing the item, which may have sentimental value or be difficult to replace. The charges for this service are based on a flat fee to cover travelling and the first hours´ work; followed, if necessary, by an hourly rate for extra time to complete the job. The Chicago Glass Distortion Free polishing system has been tested and verified by both the BSi in the UK and SGS in the USA.
At Chicago Glass we pride ourselves in providing our clients with a very cost effective alternative to scratched glass replacement, by providing in-situ glass repairs, such as glass polishing, scratch removal and removal of scratched graffiti on glass. We have taken scratch polishing to the next level by being able to remove scratches from glass leaving very little distortion and in some instances where our clients request it, we polish glass scratches totally distortion free as a bespoke service. Our two-stage polishing process has brought scratch repair costs to a minimum making it the solution of choice to last minute glass snagging issues.
We also specialise in complex glass repairs such as chip repair, shell repair, crack repair and restoration of glass damaged by grinder spatter and weld splatter. Our glass renovation and glass restoration services would not be complete without our solutions to tackle etched and scratched graffiti on glass especially on shop fronts and train and bus windows, which include applying protective window film as part of our anti-graffiti service package. |

Any scratches caused to glass surfaces in the home can be rectified by Chicago Glass technicians. It is only cost effective where the cost of replacement is high, but in conservatories, or where added value (such as etched glass) has been used, the service can be very cost effective. Because the process does not cause any distortion, scratched glass and mirrors can be restored to an ´as new´ condition.
